Please be aware that during the week of March 16-20, 2020, the College of Nursing in conjunction with Huntsville Hospital, will be hosting the 34th annual Let’s Pretend Hospital event for local first graders.  During that time, approximately 2,300 first grade children will tour a “pretend hospital” that we have designed for them.  There are some ways this may affect you and your time at UAH during that week.

Parking for the G17 lot, beside the nursing building and the library, will be closed to traffic during the hours of 7am and 3pm to allow for school buses to drop off and pick up the children.  After many considering many options, this has been determined to be the safest option for the children.

You may know a child that is coming to Let’s Pretend Hospital (LPH) during this week.  Please be advised that unless you are one of the official chaperones with the child’s school, you will not be allowed to attend the event.  This is a safety measure that is taken very seriously.  Anyone entering the nursing building during the week of LPH will be asked to provide identification and must have official business in the building (classes, meetings with advisors or instructors, etc.) during the time children are present.

Please refrain from taking any photos of the children as parents have signed consent forms refusing any photography of their children. There will be sidewalk chalk, outdoor decorations, and other festivities so photos of the decorations is acceptable, but we ask that you do not include children in any photographs.
