I am pleased to announce the appointment of Greg Smith as Assistant Vice President for Facilities & Operations effective on or around August 20, 2018.

Greg has thirty years of experience in the management of facilities planning and operations and is currently the Acting Director of Facilities and Construction with ADTRAN, Inc. Prior to ADTRAN, he was the Director of Operations and Maintenance with the Huntsville International Airport.  

As Assistant Vice President, Greg will direct the planning, design, development, construction, maintenance, and renovation of campus facilities. He will also have responsibility for the Grounds Management Department, Fleet Services and Custodial Services.

Greg graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management. He is a Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Accredited Airport Executive (AAE) and holds an Alabama real estate license.

Greg’s extensive knowledge in facilities management and leadership experience will be an asset to the university and I look forward to working with him as he helps to support the teaching, research and public service mission of UAH by providing a safe, comfortable and aesthetically pleasing campus environment.
