I want to let you know that I plan to retire from President of UAH and from UAH at some time during or shortly after the upcoming academic year. I have asked the Board of Trustees to begin the selection process for my successor, and they have agreed.

With Chancellor Hayes stepping out of the Chancellor’s position at the end of this month to take on a new role overseeing a behavioral health initiative supporting the System’s three campuses, the Board will first select a successor to Chancellor Hayes, who, in turn, working with the Board, will then select my successor. I will continue as President of UAH until the new President is in place. The new President will then have the opportunity to shape his or her team for the long term through the appointment of permanent Vice Presidents for Research and Economic Development, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and University Advancement.

It is an honor, a privilege, and a pleasure to serve as President of The University of Alabama in Huntsville, and I look forward to us continuing on our trajectory of progress this coming academic year.

Thanks,
Bob
