The Student Success Center (SSC) at The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) celebrated its relocation to the first-floor north wing of the Louis Salmon Library with a ribbon-cutting ceremony yesterday. The new facility will allow the SSC's professional staff and peer educators to provide academic support to UAH students in an attractive and ample environment.

"The SSC, now located in the library, will become the destination study space on campus," says Alan Constant, the center's director, of the move. Valerie Johnson, coordinator of its Tutoring & Writing Program, adds, "We are very excited to move to our new facility to have integrated technology and additional space for appointments."

The SSC offers academic support programs to all UAH students. These programs include academic coaching, exploratory advising, tutoring and writing assistance, and Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS). The center is currently open Monday through Thursday from 8:15 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. During the spring semester, the SSC will keep the same Friday hours but extend its Monday through Thursday hours to 9:00 p.m. and add new hours on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
