On Friday, December 19, 2025, the University will complete its transition to a more modern and secure version of Banner. As part of this upgrade, the older version of Banner (Banner 8) will be retired.

What is changing?

Most of us are already using the newer version of Banner for our daily tasks. However, on Friday afternoon, the old system will be permanently turned off.

This means that any old bookmarks or links you have saved in your browser for things like timesheets, registration, or paystubs may stop working.

How do I get to my Banner tasks?

Starting Friday afternoon, the best way to ensure you are using the correct version of Banner is to:

  1. Go to the portal: Log in at my.uah.edu.
  2. Click your usual links: OIT will update all links within the portal (such as "Employee Services" or "Student Services") to point to the new system automatically.
  3. Update your bookmarks: If you use browser bookmarks, please delete the old ones and save the new pages once you’ve opened them via the portal.

Why is this happening?

The software provider is ending support for the older version of Banner at the end of the year. Moving fully to the new version ensures our campus data stays secure and that we continue to have access to the latest features.
