Dear Charger Community,

I want to update you on key efforts underway at UAH to enhance our systems and infrastructure. These efforts are directly in line with the goals of both our Strategic Plan and Strategic Enrollment Plan, and will help us to work more efficiently, adapt to change and build a stronger, more agile future.

First is the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Modernization effort. Several months ago, we launched a strategic planning initiative to review UAH’s core business infrastructure. After close collaboration with campus stakeholders, we are moving forward with a multi-year program to upgrade and unify our core enterprise systems by implementing a new ERP platform.

The new system will streamline many of our Finance and Human Resources processes — such as budgeting, hiring, payroll and procurement — into a single, more efficient platform. This will provide us with robust, rich analytics and actionable insights into our operations. By leveraging these powerful new capabilities, we will reduce manual processes, adopt innovations faster and improve strategic decision-making, all while promoting technology-driven engagement that enhances the student experience. Our Student Information System is expected to be replaced in a future phase of the project.

The ERP team will be providing regular updates in the coming weeks and months to keep everyone informed about key milestones, training opportunities, and ways to get involved. We’re excited about this journey and look forward to working together to build a stronger, more efficient UAH.

In addition, UAH has been working for many months to develop our 2026 Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). All In for Student Success” was developed collaboratively by faculty, staff and other campus stakeholders, and represents a campus-wide commitment to enhancing student success by providing holistic support through shared efforts, knowledge and data. As part of this effort, UAH is introducing Navigate UAH, a student success platform that advising offices will begin using this fall, with a full campus launch planned for Fall 2026.

While the QEP is a required component of our upcoming reaffirmation of accreditation by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACSCOC), it is, more than anything, a reflection of our shared vision to improve institutional effectiveness and create a more supportive environment for our students. The QEP team is establishing a dedicated webpage and will be providing updates as well. As we move toward accreditation activities in the spring of 2026, this initiative will continue to grow in visibility and impact. I encourage every member of our campus community to stay informed, engage with the QEP, and lend your support.

We’re committed to creating an environment where every Charger can succeed — from enrollment through graduation and beyond. In the coming months, you’ll hear more about these important initiatives, and we invite your engagement throughout the process. Together, we can build a stronger, more agile UAH that supports every student’s success.

Thank you, and Go Chargers!

Sincerely,

Charles L. Karr

President
