    World-famous pianist Olga Kern answered questions from UAH music students during a Q&A last week. Kern is also a Van Cliburn Gold Medalist.

  • UAH's Jeffrey Neuschatz named American Editor of international journal "Psychology, Crime & Law"

    Jeffrey S. Neuschatz, Professor and Chair of the Department of Psychology at UAH, was recently named the American Editor of the international journal Psychology, Crime & Law.

  • UAH welcomes Dr. Shuang Zhao, Assistant Professor with shared faculty appointments in CAHS and CoS

    Shuang Zhao was "always sick" from the constant pollution from the thick, gray blanket of clouds hanging over her hometown, of Lifen, in the Shanxi Province located in northern China. According to a 2010 CNN online news article, Lifen was at the top of the list of the worlds 20 most-polluted cities.

  • UAH Communication Arts Department hosts fall SCoR Colloquium "Rhetoric, Christianity, and War"

    The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) will host a fall Southern Colloquium on Rhetoric (SCoR), Friday, Oct. 16. The theme is "Rhetoric, Christianity, and War."

    The colloquium is from 1 p.m., to 5 p.m., in the in the Shelby Center for Science and Technology, room 301. The event is sponsored by the UAH Department of Communication Arts.

    Dr. Clarke Rountree, Department Chair of Communication Arts will lead the colloquium at UAH. "Several distinguished professors from other universities will discuss selected readings by scholars and public speakers addressing the "Rhetoric, Christianity, and War" theme. This is the first time UAH has hosted a SCoR academic conference, and we are very excited to take part in this wonderful series."

  • UAH Office of Diversity hosts HAICI Forum: "Charleston, A Faith Response and a Different Outcome"

    The UAH Office of Diversity in partnership with the Huntsville Area Inclusive Community Initiative (HAICI) will host a public forum at the Charger Union Theater on Thursday, Oct. 1, at 6:30 p.m.

  • Bachelor of Arts in Theatre one of several new degree programs to be offered by UAH

    This fall, The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) will award its first Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre. It's a milestone moment for the university's Theatre Program, which has experienced solid growth since its inception under the oversight of David Harwell, associate professor of communication arts and the director of UAH Theatre.

    "It's the culmination of many years of hard work by members of the UAH family and the community at large, and I believe it will offer students from many of the strong high school and community college theatre programs attractive options for further study," says Harwell.

    With Alabama just a few years from its 200th anniversary as a state, the Alabama Bicentennial Commission (ABC) is laying the groundwork for a celebration worthy of such a momentous milestone. And helping in that effort is Hannah Delp, a senior communication arts major and public history minor at UAH.
