Our Facility
Located in Morton Hall 009, the VUE lab houses two research spaces partitioned by a short wall. The lab space is flexible and can be used for different functions. For example, the large central room can be used for observations and recording of a small group and the smaller lab area used for one-on-one testing or remote observations. The lab also accommodates planning, initial project scoping, design, and digital prototyping and houses a small device lab.
The lab can be used to research (a) cognitive interactions (walkthroughs, card sorting, modeling, affinity diagramming etc), (b) behavioral interactions (paper prototyping, beta testing etc), and (c) emotional engagements (ethnography and limited biometric testing).
We use industry standard Morae software to observe and record user interactions.
There is video and audio equipment available for recording observations. Participants who require recording are encouraged to bring their own media to save their files.
- The one room facility can comfortably seat up to 4 observers, and a group of up to 3 testers on computers simultaneously.
- Focus group space can facilitate 10 people comfortably
