Spring

• Sept. 1 for all applicants inside and outside the United States
• This is the priority deadline for all research and teaching assistantships. Applicants who submit after this deadline may be ineligible for such support. 

Fall

• Jan. 31 for all applicants inside and outside the United States
• This is the priority deadline for all research and teaching assistantships. Applicants who submit after this deadline may be ineligible for such support.

Pre-requisites for the M.S. program are a bachelor's degree in psychology, including coursework in experimental design and statistics. Prospective students who do not yet have these prerequisites can take the necessary prerequisites in our undergraduate curriculum; students should contact the Chair of the Psychology Department to discuss this possibility.

Documents for Graduate School:

• Official transcripts: From all colleges and universities attended (minimum GPA accepted 3.25)

Complete Application for the Department of Psychology includes:

• Three letters of recommendation from university professors, with at least two from Psychology faculty 
• Letter of intent: A description of why you want to study experimental psychology at UAH and with which faculty member you would potentially like to work
• Empirical research report: An APA-formatted research paper describing data you have collected and analyzed. If this is not a paper you completed for a class but a publication that you completed with other authors, the applicant must be first author on the paper
• Interview with the Department of Psychology 

Psychology graduate students may be eligible for one of several Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) positions. The application for assistantship should be completed and uploaded to the graduate application portal. Priority deadlines for assistantships are September 1 for spring applicants and January 31 for fall applicants.
