Spring

• Sept. 1 for all applicants inside and outside the United States
• This is the priority deadline for all research and teaching assistantships. Applicants who submit after this deadline may be ineligible for such support. 

Fall

• Jan. 31 for all applicants inside and outside the United States
• This is the priority deadline for all research and teaching assistantships. Applicants who submit after this deadline may be ineligible for such support.

• Have a minimum GPA of 3.5 overall on a 4.0 scale on all higher education courses attempted or in the last 60 hours of earned credit
• International students must receive minimum scores of 79 (TOEFL) or 6.0 (IELTS) on all subsections of these tests
• Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
• A writing sample that demonstrates the ability to communicate scientific knowledge and findings relevant to the program for which you are applying (e.g., APA-formatted research paper written for a class; technical white paper; proceedings paper; etc.)
• A statement of intent that identifies a desired faculty advisor
• Resume or Curriculum Vitae
• Three (3) Letters of Reference that speak to applicant’s competency in research methods and statistics
• Once you have submitted a completed application, you may be invited to a competitive interview with faculty members in the Department of Psychology
• Acknowledgment of reliable computer, webcam, and Internet access to successfully complete online and hybrid classes

Psychology graduate students may be eligible for one of several Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) positions. The application for assistantship should be completed and uploaded to the graduate application portal. Priority deadlines for assistantships are September 1 for spring applicants and January 31 for fall applicants.
