Biography

Dr. Xiaoti Fan is an Assistant Professor in the Communication Arts Department at UAH. Her primary research interest focuses on exploring deceptive communication in interpersonal relationships, as well as in intercultural contexts. She is also interested in examining deception theories as they evolve over time. Additionally, she looks forward to expanding her research in deception to mediated contexts such as online dating scams and cybersecurity. She teaches a variety of communication courses such as Interpersonal Communication, Research Method, and Communication Theory.
