About Brittney

Where did you attend high school?

I attended Elkmont High School in Elkmont, Alabama.

What made you want to be an admissions counselor?

My college admissions counselor made a huge impact on my life when I was a graduating senior. If I hadn't had the guidance of my admissions counselor, I would not be where I am today. From that experience, I knew I wanted to be an admissions counselor in hopes of having the same opportunity to help impact a student's life for the better.

What advice would you give students who are in the college search process?

I believe it is very important for a student to do their research. Look up as much as you can, and visit as many campuses as possible. Each university has different strengths and an overall different atmosphere. By researching and visiting you will be able to find the perfect fit for you.

What is the most important factor for any incoming student?

I strongly advise students to take advantage of all the opportunities UAH offers to get involved on campus. Being involved and a leader on campus is going to propel a student to the next level of success. Not only does it enhance a student's overall college experience, but it also provides them with the skills necessary to succeed in their future careers.
