UAH's Dual Enrollment program lets high-achieving high school students take college courses and earn transferable college credit before graduating high school. It's a chance to experience college-level work, build health habits around academics, and get a sense of what college will actually be like.
Benefits include:
- Early progress toward a college degree
- Exposure to college-level coursework
- Increased confidence heading into college
There's no limit to how many courses you can take as a dual enrollment student, and each class comes with a scholarship covering half the tuition cost!

Students from participating high schools may also seek Dual Credit, receiving both college and high school credit for the same course.
Rising Honors Dual Enrollment Academy
For students looking for something more rigorous, the Rising Honors Academy is a selective program in collaboration with the UAH Honors College. High school students join a small cohort of peers in seminar-style courses focused on critical thinking and deeper engagement.
To qualify, students need a 28 ACT composite and 3.75 GPA. UAH will consider both weighted and unweighted GPAs, as well as ACT superscores for the three traditional ACT subjects.
To earn an Rising Honors Academy certificate, you must complete 12 honors credit hours before graduating high school.

Charger Status allows you to:
- Apply for admission and check the status of your application
- Track what items have been received by the Office of Admissions
- View a to-do list of next steps to help you stay on track

Admissions Requirements
- Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA to participate.
- While test scores are not required for admission to the Dual Enrollment program, they are encouraged as they may be needed for some courses requiring a pre-requisite.

Submit Your Transcript, Scores & Approval Form
Complete your application by submitting the required documents.
Send your official transcripts to UAH through an electronic delivery service. UAH accepts official transcripts from Parchment, Student Clearinghouse, and Scoir.
If your school does not have access to these services, request that they send your official hard-copy transcripts to:

Have your official ACT or SAT scores sent directly to UAH by the testing agency.

If applicable, have any official AP/IB credit sent directly from the testing agency to the Registrar's Office to have your scores evaluated for UAH credit.

Send the Dual Enrollment Approval Form signed by your parents/guardians, school counselor, and principal to dual.enrollment@uah.edu.

- Check out the course catalog to view class descriptions. Students must meet the prerequisite or corequisite requirement for each course.
- View course listings for the term you plan to attend. This is where you will find important class information, including the class meeting time, location, and instructor.
Continuing Enrollment
For each term you wish to enroll as a dual enrollment student, you will need to submit a new Dual Enrollment Approval Form indiciating the courses you wish to take.

What classes am I allowed to take?
Dual Enrollment students can take any classes for which they have met the prerequisite requirements. You can view the course descriptions and prerequisite requirements for each class in our Course Catalog.

Are there any scholarships available for Dual Enrollment students?
UAH awards a scholarship equal to 50% of tuition for each dual enrollment class per semester. Students are responsible for paying the remainder of their bill no later than the first day of the classes for the semester they are attending. Visit the Bursar site to view payment options.
