Emerging Leaders is a welcoming program designed specifically for first-year students who want to get involved, connect with others, and grow as individuals and leaders. Through bi-weekly Monday sessions, you'll explore what leadership really means—backed by research, made personal through reflection, and put into action through involvement on campus. Along the way, you’ll build friendships within your cohort, participate in service and social events, and get to know the many opportunities available to you here at UAH. Whether you’re new to leadership or looking to deepen your experience, this program is a great way to start your journey with purpose and community. If you are interested in joining the Emerging Leaders program, apply using the link above. Questions? Please contact us at: leadership@uah.edu Not only did I learn about the importance of serving and caring about others, I learned how to take care of myself as well. Self-care is a huge aspect of Emerging Leaders, and it taught me the importance of prioritizing my well-being and inspiring others to do the same.- Iman Hankins, EL Class of 2021 Emerging Leaders was the first college organization I was involved with. I was able to enhance my leadership and communication skills that helped me develop strong and meaningful relationships. The program was so much fun and I definitely learned a lot!- Natalia Castillo Casados, EL Class of 2020 Emerging Leaders has opened my mind to a new lens of the world and UAH. I have learned how much vulnerability and authenticity tie into being a good leader. Through the program, I was able to create meaningful relationships with various leaders in the Huntsville area. I would not be the leader that I am now, who leads with passion, if I had not been a part of Emerging Leaders!- Madeline Brooks, Leadership Fellows Class of 2020 Being involved in the Emerging Leaders program has helped me to improve my confidence in my leadership abilities and my abilities to communicate and work with others. It has also helped me find my community on campus.- Coleman Poole, EL Class of 2020
