Biography

Mr. Gauldin is the leader of the multi-talented team of reliability engineers, researchers, and students that focus on system reliability that comprises the Reliability and Failure Analysis Lab (RFAL). The focus on system reliability provides a mechanism to verify the analytical and experimental analysis to provide an overall understanding of the target systems reliability. He is the Principal Investigator of the RFAL development team for the prognostics machine learning algorithm which utilizes sensor data to optimize system readiness. He is the Principal Investigator for the RFAL environmental research and testing facility which is responsible for providing the experimental analysis of complex systems to ensure overall product reliability.

Mr. Gauldin has worked in the reliability analysis and experimental focus area for 11 years. Prior to joining UAH he served as the Reliability Operations Manager in the automotive sector having the responsibility for ensuring the product reliability of engine controllers, body and chassis controllers, instrument clusters, navigation equipment, and radios for original equipment manufacturers. He also has an extensive history in the engineering and development of electronic equipment. This experience includes the design of the radio control system for the lighting of a portable landing zone (LZ). His reliability experience started when he was the lead design engineer for the development of parametric and life testers for automotive radio systems. His areas of expertise are: Reliability Analysis, Business Unit Management, Program Management, Design of Experiments to meet testing criteria, Technical Management, and all facets of Environmental Testing, Training, and Execution.
