Group-Tour Step back in time to 1805 when a pioneer named John Hunt made his way to a body of water he promptly named Hunt’s Spring. As soon as the Indians ceded their land to the U.S. government, others followed, and many became wealthy growing cotton. Some were veterans of the American Revolution, and they built their cabins and mansions and became politicians and merchants.
In and around the Twickenham Historic District and Old Town Historic District, see the home of the man who ordered the first shot fired in the Civil War, the home named for a Jersey cow, the home of CSA General John Hunt Morgan, the birthplace of Tallulah Bankhead, and quirky architectural features most people never notice. Perhaps we will hear a ghost story or two!
Your tour guide for this fun day is Jacque Reeves, the author of 12 books on true crime and local history, and founder of Avalon Tours, Huntsville Ghost Walk, and co-founder of Mischief and Mayhem Tours. Transportation is not provided for this attraction and please wear comfortable walking shoes.
