Yeqing Bao named Associate Dean of Graduate School, Associate Director of International Engagement at UAH

Dr. Yeqing Bao was recently named Associate Dean of Graduate School and Associate Director of International Engagement at UAH.

Yeqing Bao has been named Associate Dean of Graduate School and Associate Director of International Engagement at The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH). He began his new duties on Dec. 1.

"I appreciate the support and encouragement of colleagues across the campus. In the new roles, I look forward to being an advocate for the interests of Graduate School and the Office of International Engagement, engaging and serving the educational community, and enhancing UAH's visibility and reputation," said Dr. Yeqing Bao.

He also holds the rank of Professor of Marketing, and will continue to teach in the UAH College of Business Administration. Bao's office is located in the Conference Training Center, room 113.

"Dr. Bao brings a wealth of experience to this position," said Dr. Christine Curtis, UAH Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs. "He came to UAH 14 years ago as an Assistant Professor upon completion of his Ph.D. in Marketing from Virginia Tech and has since risen to the rank of Professor. He was appointed as the Director of International Programs in the College of Business in 2008 and later as the Associate Dean for Undergraduate and International Programs in 2013. Over the years, he has developed and implemented many international agreements with Chinese universities for the College of Business."

Curtis said in Bao's new role, he will help guide the growth and international diversification of enrollment in all of the university's programs. He will be an advocate for the interests of Graduate School and the Office of International Engagement within and outside the University, engage and serve the local and regional educational community, help to establish UAH's visibility and reputation, increase student enrollment, and provide leadership for the students engaging in an international experience. Bao will also assist in the onboarding of international students and faculty at UAH.

He earned undergraduate degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Management, and a Post Graduate Certificate in International Finance and Trade from Tsinghua University (Beijing, China).
