UAH 2015 Alumni of Achievement Awards set

The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) Alumni Association will honor and celebrate the achievements of alumni on Thursday, Aug. 6, at the Annual Alumni Association Meeting and Alumni of Achievement Awards Presentation.

The event will begin at 5:30 p.m., and will be held in the Wilson Hall Auditorium, on the UAH campus. The awards presentation is free to attend, and the dress is business-casual attire. An RSVP is requested to assist with planning the program, please respond to online RSVP form.

The Alumni of Achievement Award is the highest honor bestowed by the UAH Alumni Association.  The award recognizes graduates who have distinguished themselves professionally and personally and who exemplify the high standards of UAH.  A committee selects the winners from nominations made by alumni, faculty, and friends.

"The UAH Alumni Association is very proud to announce this year's five Alumni of Achievement Award Honorees.  Each one is a shining example of the success that can be accomplished as a UAH graduate.  We look forward to honoring them in August and celebrating their many achievements," said Rachel Osby, Senior Director of Alumni Relations and Executive Director of the UAH Alumni Association.

2015 UAH Alumni of Achievement Award Honorees are:

  • Dr. Curtis Bridgeman ('96, BA Philosophy) Dean, Willamette University College of Law
  • Dr. Cindy Cooke ('98, MS Nursing) Family Nurse Practitioner, Fox Army Health Center
  • Mr. Daniel Dumbacher ('84 MAS ) Professor of Engineering Practice, Purdue University
  • Ms. Renee Ryan ('83 BSBA Finance, '08 Spanish) CEO and Managing Partner Language That Works, LLC
  • Dr. Krista Walton ('00 BSE Chemical Engineering) Associate Professor and Marvin R. McClatchey and Ruth McClatchey Cline Faculty Fellow, Georgia Tech

At the event, all alumni will also be invited to vote on the 2015-2016 slate of Alumni Association Officers and new Board members as part of the Alumni Association's Annual business meeting.
