UAH’s Ability Sport Network hosts Wheelchair Tennis Clinics

The University of Alabama in Huntsville’s (UAH) Ability Sport Network will host two Wheelchair Tennis Clinics on Thursday, Aug. 29, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Evan Enquist, Head Wheelchair Tennis Coach at The University of Alabama (UA) will lead the clinics. Both events are free to attend and equipment will be provided. The first clinic is a one-hour event beginning at 4 p.m., for potential coaches on game instruction. Enquist will lead the main clinic from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

"We are excited to host this clinic and want to expand sports opportunities for people with disabilities in the Huntsville community," said Dr. David Kyle, UAH Ability Sport Network Director.

Enquist was named Head Wheelchair Tennis Coach at UA in 2015. The Crimson Tide has won three consecutive national titles under Enquist.

He also serves in a number of roles for the United States Tennis Association. Enquist is a member of the United States Tennis Association (USTA) National Wheelchair Tennis Committee and appointed chair of the Collegiate Wheelchair Tennis Sub Committee. Enquist also holds regional positions on the USTA Southern Wheelchair Tennis Committee and USTA Alabama Diversity Committee.

The UAH Ability Sport Network clinics will be held at The Athletic Club Alabama on Leeman Ferry Road in Huntsville.
