Robert Kaplinsky, noted mathematics specialist will lead a workshop for the UAH Alabama Math, Science, Technology Initiative.

The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) and the Alabama Math, Science, Technology Initiative will host a Math Summit featuring Robert Kaplinsky on Monday, Dec. 17.

The seminar titled "Rethinking Math Education," will be held in the UAH Student Services Building (SSB) Conference Center room 112 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Kaplinsky is a noted K-12 school district mathematics teacher specialist from Southern California. The daylong workshop will cover goals in math education and skills that will teach students to be college and career ready.

Kaplinsky has trained thousands of educators across the US and Canada through workshops, keynote presentations, and as an Instructor for The University of California, Los Angeles. His mathematics assessment tools have been published in Education Week and The American Educational Research Association. He is the co-founder of the Southern California Math Teacher Specialist Network.
