Huntsville, Ala. (March 7, 2012) — The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAHuntsville) College of Nursing and Huntsville Hospital will admit about 2,700 first graders to the 27th annual Let’s Pretend Hospital on Friday, March 9 on the university campus.
The simulated hospital is located in the Nursing building and will open its doors to “sick” first graders from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will resume activities March 12-16. Motorists are asked to please be aware of children and school buses on our campus during those days.
The project allows more than 200 UAHuntsville nursing students an opportunity to apply developmental theory in teaching children about nursing and health care.
The buses will load and unload students in the Holmes Avenue parking lot, near the Nursing building and the Louis Salmon Library.
