This session will provide key updates on the TRS Defined Benefit Plan, offering valuable information to help you navigate your retirement options with confidence. Once the issue is resolved, an update will be sent to everyone.* Nearly all UAH employees are required to participate in Teachers' Retirement Systems of Alabama (TRS) defined-benefit retirement plan. The amount of retirement income for eligible employees is determined by the number of years of participation, the average final salary (using the best three out of the last ten years) and the option chosen by the individual at the time of retirement. Required contributions are made up to the $345,000 annual earnable compensation limit. The limitation only applies to employees hired on or after July 1, 1996.
