Apply Now Welcome to the UAH Housing’s Returning Student Housing Process webpage. Below you will find all of the information you need to choose your on-campus housing assignment for the next academic year! The returner process for the 2024-2025 academic concluded on Thursday, April 4th. If you are in need of housing, you will need to add yourself to the 24-25 Housing Waitlist. You can find instructions on how to do so on the New Student Contract page. If you have any questions, you can contact UAH Housing at 256-824-6108 or housing@uah.edu. Returning Student Housing Process Guide Step 1: Complete the Housing Contract Below is important information about the housing contract. You must currently live on campus for the Spring 2024 semester to be eligible to submit a returner housing contract. In this process, you will be asked to sign the 2024-2025 Student Room/Food Service Contract. The contract is a legal, binding document for the entire academic year (Fall and Spring semesters), lasting nine months. You will receive a non-signed contract to your UAH email after submission. If you are under the age of 19, a parent or guardian will be required to complete the parental verification form sent via email. This has to be completed in order to be able to participate in room selection. If you submit a housing contract and then decide not to attend UAH, cancellation fees will be assessed. You can review this policy here. The contract is closed for the 2024-2025 academic year. This step must be completed in order to participate in all subsequent steps of the process. It is important to note that your room selection time is based off of the received date of the contract. Step 2: Finding a Roommate (optional) Once the housing contract and parental verification are completed, the student will be added to a roommate matching group automatically in Residential Self-Service. At that point, students can search for potential roommates within their group based on 11 different attributes provided in the housing contract. Additionally, students can create a Roommate Profile under Personal Information, allowing them to further describe themselves. This profile can be visible during the roommate matching process to help facilitate better connections. Already have a desired roommate in mind? No problem! You can search for that person in Residential Self-Service and match with them there. If your chosen roommate does not appear in the search results, they likely haven't completed the housing contract yet. Check with them to ensure it is complete before contacting our office. Please note, the max size a roommate group can be is 4 students (Charger Village Addition & Charger Village Original) and 3 students (Southeast Campus). When you enter room selection, we cannot guarantee that there will be enough space available to accommodate the entire roommate group. There is a possibility that the roommate group will need to be split up into different suites. We recommend having that conversation with your group prior to the start of room selection. We encourage you to take the roommate matching search into your own hands! If you do not participate in the roommate matching process, you will be assigned random roommates. Step 3: Room Selection Students who completed the housing contract in Step 1 will be provided a room selection time based off of when they submitted the contract. Selection times will be generated prior to room selection. Students will log into My College Roomie Housing when their selection time and date have arrived to select a room for the 2024-2025 academic year. Students will receive an official assignment letter to their UAH email address after the process has concluded on Tuesday, April 2nd. Room selection will take place from Tuesday, March 26th, to Tuesday, April 2nd. Any students whose parental verification is not complete will not be eligible to participate in room selection. Students will receive a notification via email if this part is not complete prior to room selection starting. No, you do not have to pay an application fee to submit the returner housing contract during the Returning Student Housing Process. What does it mean to be on the waitlist after RSHP? Any student who does not receive a housing assignment during the room selection of the Returning Student Housing Process (RSHP) is automatically placed on a waiting list for 2024-2025 housing. After housing staff has assessed any remaining space available, they will start assigning students from the RSHP waitlist first to those spaces. This process will continue as space becomes available until all students on the list have been provided a housing assignment.
