Kirsten Hughes is our current Honors student in the spotlight. Kirsten is from British Columbia, Canada. She graduated from Athens High School in 2009. In high school, she was involved with community and school plays where she participated in a production of Fiddler on the Roof. She was also involved in the Beta Club and the National Honors Society.

Kirsten is a History for Secondary Education major. Not surprisingly, her future career goal is to become a high school history teacher. At UAHuntsville, Kirsten is involved in several different activities. She has served as an Orientation Leader for the past 2 years, she is an Honors Mentor and a PASS leader.

Outside of UAH, Kirsten teaches music to the children at her church and plays the piano in her church choir.
