Your thesis is one of the most important requirements for your graduate degree. This document will be published as a product of UAH and as such must reflect the standards, policies and procedures set forth by the Graduate Council of UAH, as well as those of external entities that will be involved in its publication. We expect these documents to be reasonably consistent in style and format, to address any legal and ethical issues related to conducting and publishing original research, and to adhere to the highest standards of English language, grammar and readability. Preparation of such an important document is no simple task. Therefore, the Thesis and Dissertation Manual is provided to assist you. Thesis and Dissertation Manual UAH LaTeX Thesis Files UAH LaTeX Thesis Files provided by Mr. Matthew Turner, UAH Modeling & Simulation Department. The year 2008 was the last date the Graduate Office made major changes to the thesis template. Use the Masters (2008) or the PHD (2008), depending on your program. The .rar files can be uncompressed with a free program called WinRAR. Explanation The main file is thesis.tex ... it controls all of the others. The file "uahdis.sty" is the style file that Mr. Turner wrote. The file thesis.pdf was written using the template, and it describes the template (like a "read me" file). The template forces a file structure which works well for writing a thesis/dissertation, and encourages the writer to be a little organized in the way that he/she assembles the document. If you prefer a free-form template, then this one might not be for you. This is an organized file-structure-driven template. LaTeX software recommendation: Mr. Turner highly recommends the LaTeX variant called, "MikTeX" and the LaTeX editor called "WinEdt".
