Girls in Science and Engineering Day

Registration is now closed for April 6, 2024.  

UAH is excited to bring back Girls in Science and Engineering Days (GSED) to the Rocket City!  GSED is a day of hands-on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) activities designed for girls in the 3rd and 4th grades in the morning and 5th and 6th grades in the afternoon. 

REMINDER: Groups are randomly assigned and requests cannot be made unless under special circumstances. Contact the GSED Team at gsed@uah.edu with any questions or concerns. 

Date and Sessions for 2024

April 6th: Session 1 - 8:30am to 12:15pm for 3rd-4th graders 

April 6th: Session 2 - 1:30pm to 5:30pm for 5th-6th graders

Where is GSED held?

Girls in Science and Engineering Days will be held on the UAH campus at the Shelby Center for Science and Technology (www.uah.edu/map - Building SST)

What is the cost?

The cost is $20 per participant and covers all activities and materials.  Each participant will receive a T-shirt, a STEM goody bag, and a mid-program snack.  Parents will receive a digital STEM booklet with resources that will help to foster their child's interest in STEM.
