Specifically he is interested in how laboratory experiences influence learning and engineering education. Prior to his appointment to Lecturer he served six years as laboratory manager at UAHuntsville. A significant part of this position was in laboratory curriculum and exercise development. During this time he co-authored four in-house laboratory manuals and several standalone laboratory experiments. As Lecturer he has co-authored a textbook, Fundamental Concepts in Electrical and Computer Engineering with Practical Design Problems, which takes a hands-on approach to introductory engineering which includes modular laboratory exercises. In addition he has co-authored several refereed journal articles aimed toward education and laboratory apparatus.
