NickWe would like to Welcome Dr. Hongyu Zhou as Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

Dr. Hongyu Zhou received his Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering from Tongji University in 2010.  He received his Master of Science in Engineering and Ph.D. degrees in Civil Engineering from Arizona State University in 2012 and 2013, respectively.  Dr. Zhou's research interests include the development and characterization of innovative infrastructural materials, structural multi-hazards damage mitigation, advanced composite materials, and micromechanics. His Ph.D. research was funded by Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and National Science Foundation, and he received a fellowship from DHS in 2012 to perform joint research with Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) to study the microstructures and micromechanical behaviors of advanced composites.
