DSST is a nationally recognized credit-by-examination program that allows you to receive college credits for learning acquired outside the traditional classroom such as reading, on-the-job training, or independent study. It is a computer-based test. Exam length is approximately 2 hours. Examinees are advised to contact specific departments within their colleges and universities regarding DSST acceptance policies before registering for any exam. DSST Military Initiative All active duty military personnel are eligible to take DSST tests without being charged a fee. Two forms of ID are required or exam day. Armed Forces of the United States Military ID US Government or State-Issued Photo ID Each DSST test title may only be taken once without a fee being charged. There are two fees associated with the DSST exam: $100 exam fee paid on test day to DSST via credit or debit card only $40 UAH administration fee paid online Your administration fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. Test Day Information Bring a valid government-issued photo ID which includes your name, signature and a recognizable photograph. Bring a debit or credit card to pay the DSST fee. You will create a profile and pay the fee online while in the testing room. Arrive at least 20 minutes before the scheduled exam time: Provide your vehicle's license plate number to receive a parking permit in Wilson Hall, Room 214.
