Students conducting research on plasma science

If you are a current or prospective graduate student at a CPU2AL partner institution and are interested in research on low-temperature plasma (LTP), there are different avenues that you can pursue to receive financial support through a graduate research assistantship (GRA). Please review the programs below and then send an email with your resume expressing your interest in a “GRA with the CPU2AL project” to a lead faculty listed on the CPU2AL partner institutions webpage or to nsfepscor@uah.edu

CERIF GRA Program

The NSF EPSCoR CPU2AL project has a Central Education, Recruitment, and Impact Fund (CERIF) to award GRAs to selected students involved in research on LTP. These GRAs provide financial support for up to three years to selected graduate students at CPU2AL partner institutions.

If you are interested in this opportunity, please review the eligibility conditions. Note that the application must include a research project and that you will have to identify a research advisor at a CPU2AL partner institution. Please visit the CERIF GRA Application webpage for instructions on how to apply.

Graduate Research Scholars Program

The Alabama Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (ALEPSCoR) Graduate Research Scholars Program (GRSP) was established in 2006 by the Alabama State Legislature. This program provides financial support to selected graduate students for up to three years. The proposed research must be directly related to a current EPSCoR federally funded project and the GRSP advisor must currently be receiving federal EPSCoR funds. Most investigators in the NSF EPSCoR CPU2AL project are eligible to become GRSP advisors. Please contact a lead faculty at your CPU2AL partner institution to find out about proposals that could be submitted to the GRSP Program.

Detailed information can be found in the 2019 request for GRSP proposals and the Graduate Research Scholars Program webpage.
