If you are sick, stay home.

If you are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms or have COVID-19, stay home and self-isolate for 10 days (or per ADPH/UAH Clinic instructions).

If you are unvaccinated and have had close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 or is under investigation for COVID-19, stay home, report the exposure to UAH, and quarantine for 14 days after last exposure.

Fully vaccinated individuals who are not experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms but have been exposed to someone with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 are not required to quarantine in accordance with public health guidance. However, reporting the exposure can certainly assist us with the health and safety of the campus community.

Report exposure and positive test results to Dean of Students (256.824.6700 or dos@uah.edu) or Human Resources (longl@uah.edu or 256.824.6545) for guidance on returning to campus. For individual medical questions contact the UAH Student Health Center (shc@uah.edu or 256.824.6775) or Faculty and Staff Clinic (fsc@uah.edu or 256.824.2100).

Face Coverings

Face coverings are required indoors on campus. This requirement applies to everyone, regardless of vaccination status.

Exceptions include:

  • When alone in offices and private workspaces
  • In residence hall rooms
  • While actively eating or drinking
  • While actively engaged in exercise

UAH will continue to monitor key data and public health guidance and will work in conjunction with the UA System Health and Safety Task Force to evaluate this temporary guidance.

Social Distancing

Unvaccinated individuals should practice social distancing wherever possible.

Clinical Settings

Clinical activities remain subject to face covering, social distancing, visitor restrictions, and any other protocols based on the requirements of the individual healthcare setting.

Athletics

Athletic events and student-athlete protocols shall follow all NCAA and conference guidelines.

Travel

University-sponsored travel is restricted for employees and must be approved.

Community Expectations and Enforcement

All members of the campus community (faculty, staff, and students) are expected to strictly adhere to the requirements of the University’s Safety and Health Requirements and any additional directives of the University with respect to health and safety.
