Today we talk to Anna Taylor from Enterprise Holdings and hear more about this reputable vehicle rental chain made up of Enterprise, National and Alamo.

1. Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started at Enterprise Holdings?

I am a Regional Talent Acquisition manager with Enterprise Holdings. I have been with the company for 11 and a half years. I myself started in the Sales Management Trainee position and heard about it through a sorority sister of mine from college.

2. What does a normal work day look like for you?

There really isn’t one… and I like that! Each day I’m screening candidates over the phone and scheduling interviews for various positions with hiring managers, interviewing candidates to join our intern or Sales Management Trainee program, in our daily rental branches observing and training on aspects related to my discipline and during the college semesters I am on campuses attending career fairs, workshops, conducting on-campus interviews, doing classroom presentations, and other various activities.

3. What is your office environment like?

We have a very close-knit office environment. We are all driven and competitive but have a lot of fun inside and outside of work together.

4. Your company really values relationship and commitment with their customers, what are some ways your team puts that into practice in your day to day operations?

Customer service is our way of life at Enterprise and our goal is to exceed every customer’s expectations and that starts with our people. One customer. One handshake. One delivered promise at a time.

5. Have you had any high profile customers rent cars from you?

Yes; all the time when I was working at the Austin airport.

6. What qualities stand out the most when you are looking for new employees?

I’m looking for individuals that have some tangible skills that align with our position but also have a great attitude and put in the effort as there is always a chance to grow within our company.

7. In the past you have posted opportunities for Management Training positions, could you tell us a little more about what that process is like?

We do a three-step interview and observation process. Talent Acquisition will typically conduct Skype or FaceTime interviews for all candidates outside of Birmingham or face-to-face with those that do reside in Birmingham for the first interview. A select number of candidates then move to a branch observation and interview with the area, branch, and assistant managers while all final interviews are conducted at our regional office with our Regional Vice President.

8. What’s been one of the funniest things you’ve seen since you’ve been working for Enterprise?

There are several I can think of, but when your boss dresses up in a tailor made suit that is for each specific holiday, I always get a giggle out of that!

9. Do you have any advice for students that could help them in developing as professionals?

Don’t be afraid to ask questions in order to be successful. But just be you, be true to yourself and you’ll be successful!

Enterprise Holdings will be one of the many companies that will be eager to talk to UAH Students and Alumni at the upcoming Career Fair on September 4.  Be sure to check your Charger Path account for more information!
