Today we speak to Jessica Stone, a Talent Acquisition Specialist from Hexagon PPM about their company, what they do, and what they are looking for in potential employees.

1) Could you tell us a little about your company and what you do?
Hexagon PPM (formerly Intergraph Process, Power & Marine) is the leading global provider of engineering software and project control solutions. We transform unstructured information into a smart digital asset, empowering our clients to visualize, create, and manage the life cycle of facilities and structures of all complexities. Hexagon PPM is part of Hexagon (Nasdaq Stockholm: HEXA B; Hexagon.com), a leading global provider of information technology solutions that drive productivity and quality across geospatial and industrial landscapes.

2) What made you choose this company?
Hexagon PPM offers the best of class engineering solutions and they realize that it starts with having world-class people. Developing your skill set benefits our business, so it's an integral part of how Hexagon PPM encourages and attracts innovation and engagement with an entrepreneurial spirit.

3) What is your work atmosphere like?
We provide a flexible environment centered around our products without sacrificing employees’ growth and development. We take pride in offering our employees a dynamic, challenging, and interesting environment to work, develop, and learn.

4) What kinds of things do you look for in a resume for potential employees?
Co-ops, internships and school projects are key indicators that tell us whether a potential candidate is focused on their skill growth and has the knowledge and motivation to support our teams.

5) What kinds of qualities are most attractive in a potential employee?
Eagerness, zeal, and passion for their chosen field (i.e. computer science, engineering, development, etc.) and the willingness to take on challenges to develop themselves personally.

6) How can students or alumni better engage with you and your company?
Connect with us on LinkedIn and follow our social media channels as well as connect with us at university events. We also have the option for students to set up jobs alerts that will immediately send them jobs as they are posted that meet the skills that they note.

7) Do you have any overall advice for students, since you have been in their shoes, on how to pursue a professional career?
Never stop your personal growth, #neverstoplearning. Don’t get discouraged if the first jobs don’t line up; there is always something better through another open door. Patience is key when first looking for a career after graduation. Not everything will work out the first time—and that’s ok! Keep going and growing! You are the author of the chances you take and the things you set your mind to.

We certainly love our friends over at Hexagon PPM and are so thankful for them taking the time to talk to us more about their work. If you are interested in learning more about them, you can get more information at their website here: HexagonPPM.com.
