Jaden Flint is dedicated to engineering and uplifting the next generation

Women In Defense (WID) Young Professional of the Year Jaden Flint is immersed in the field of engineering while obtaining her Professional MBA at UAH, working full time and giving back to the community.
Flint is dedicated to STEM and investing in the future of engineering, as illustrated by her involvement in the Green Power Initiative, Alabama STEAMFest, UAH Girls in Science and Tech Trek Camps through the WIDTennessee Valley Chapter.
“I want to expose the future generation to all the possibilities that lie ahead, and provide them with the resources to achieve their goals. If an individual has a unique idea that may seem impossible, there is likely someone within our community who could be a great resource to add value and assist in making their idea a reality. I would like to be someone who facilitates that connection. Being encouraged to actualize big dreams and not limit myself to just one interest is something I wish I heard more during my youth,” Flint said.
Flint's work allows thousands of children, many from underserved families, to learn about STEM opportunities and careers. Being a woman in STEM herself, Flint brings her expertise and experiences in the field to her interactions with the youth to provide realistic guidance and intentional mentorship. Flint also supports college students with their STEM education in her role as director of scholarships on the WID-Tennessee Valley Chapter board. As director, Flint is responsible for raising a scholarship fund each year that is distributed among female undergraduate, masters and PhD level applicants pursuing STEM degrees in the North Alabama area with a desire to support the defense industry. She is also responsible for orchestrating the nomination and selection process for the Awards Program within the WID Tennessee Valley Chapter.
“My goal as scholarship director is to eliminate the financial barriers that would prevent women from both entering and impacting the defense industry. I want to empower women to become the ultimate resource in their communities and pour back into the next generation - inspiring them to also become innovators,” Flint said.
Flint recently ventured further by pursuing her Professional MBA at UAH to bridge the gap between governance policies and technical execution within the engineering field.
“I pursued my MBA to gain a better understanding of the programmatic side of engineering,” Flint said. “I wanted to know the strategy behind acquiring business that involved resource management and allocation, business case development, growth and assessment of competencies and the construction of proposals. It was only after gaining that knowledge, that I could apply the technical insight I have gained through being hands-on with both talent and techniques in the field to improve the policies.”
Flint works full time as a model based systems engineering task lead at Intuitive Research and Technology Corporation, where she directly supports her customers in the design and architectural development of aviation systems and subsystems. She provides technical support and evaluation of engineering programs through constant communication with government customers to define executable roadmaps and provide oversight of projects and tasking. She then ensures all project expectations are being met through the translation of those objectives to members of her team. Flint said she wants to express all gratitude to her lord and savior Jesus Christ. She has a desire to embody His character, maintain His excellence standard and allow Him to use her as both an example and resource to his creation.
