The University of Alabama in Huntsville, a part of The University of Alabama System, will award more than 1,300 degrees during its spring commencement ceremonies on Thursday, May 4, at the Von Braun Center. The College of Business, College of Education and College of Science will recognize graduates at 10 a.m. while the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, the College of Engineering and the College of Nursing are scheduled for 2:30 p.m.

“Commencement and Honors Day are two of my favorite days at UAH because of the great things our students are doing,” says University Marshal Dr. Rhonda Kay Gaede, Interim Associate Provost and Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

The estimated numbers of spring 2023 degrees are 1,046 bachelor’s degrees, 245 master’s degrees and 21 doctorates, either Ph.D. or Doctor of Nursing Practice.

“It’s nice to take time out from the flurry of the day-to-day routine and celebrate. In doing so, we are fulfilling our mission of providing education for the people of northern Alabama. It’s a great thing we are doing. Our role as faculty is reminiscent of parenthood: We’re excited and proud for them to take the next steps in their lives but also a little sad to see them go.”
