Master of Accountancy (MAcc)

This program is for recent college graduates interested in gaining the skills needed to earn their CPA while developing a strong academic foundation to start their career.  UAH’s MAcc program is designed to prepare students for the CPA exam, provide the required number of hours needed to hold a CPA, and help you develop the expertise necessary to advance your career after completing your CPA.  Students who completed an advanced degree at UAH had the highest CPA pass rates in the state of Alabama in 2016.*

Learning Goals

  • Goal 1: The MAcc graduate will understand the role of Financial accounting Theory in the development and evaluation of accounting standards.
  • Goal 2: The MAcc graduate will be able to formulate logical arguments and positions related to current accounting issues.
  • Goal 3: The MAcc graduate will understand contemporary techniques for identifying and proactively managing costs an entity accumulates while attempting to achieve its strategic objectives.
  • Goal 4: The MAcc graduate will use analytical methods to solve accounting and auditing problems.
