It's almost time to Kickoff Open Enrollment: October 13- November 2

Human Resources is making plans for annual Open Enrollment which will occur from October 13th through November 2nd. Annual Open Enrollment allows you an opportunity to review your current benefits and make decisions regarding your benefit and insurance needs for the following calendar year. There will be no rate increases and minimal changes in employee benefits for the 2023 plan year.  Please review the information included in the Open Enrollment Newsletter as you prepare for Open Enrollment.

You will receive additional information beginning next week about plan changes and new benefit offerings. Additionally, there will be meetings and tutorials to assist you in making your benefits elections.  We encourage you to review the information you receive and make the necessary changes to your benefits during the open enrollment period. 

Open Enrollment Requirements
The University of Alabama in Huntsville will continue to offer a simplified annual benefit process this year with minimal changes:

• ACTION IS REQUIRED if you want to participate in a Healthcare Flexible Spending Account (HCFSA), Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DCFSA), or make your own contributions to a Healthcare Savings Account (HSA) for the 2023 plan year. Your current election will not rollover. For these tax-favored accounts, you must elect a NEW annual contribution amount to continue payroll deductions.
• NO ACTION IS REQUIRED if you do not want to make any changes to health, dental, or vision coverage. You will keep your current benefits and these coverage(s) will rollover as-is effective Jan. 1, 2023 without taking any action.

Faculty & Staff Health and Wellness Fair
To “Kick Off” Open Enrollment this year, we are planning a Pep-Rally (For your Health)!

Mark your calendars now to join us for this fun event. The Health and Wellness Fair will be held on Friday, October 14th from 11:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. in the Conference Training Center (CTC) Building Exhibit Hall. You will have the opportunity to meet and speak to all of our benefit providers as well as external vendors who offer products and services related to health and wellness. All attendees are encouraged to show their team spirit by wearing their favorite team colors. Tailgate style snacks and refreshments will be provided on a first come first serve basis. Attendees will receive a free giveaway item, and you can visit all of the vendor booths to be entered in a drawing for great door prizes!
