UAH will conduct a test of the UAlert Notification System on Wednesday, January 15, at 10:00 a.m. The test will allow UAH to evaluate the system and allow campus users to become accustomed to receiving alert messages from UAH. UAlert is a communications solution that allows the University to quickly disseminate urgent messages through multiple communication methods including:

  • Voice messages to mobile, home, and office phones
  • Text messages to mobile phones
  • Email messages
  • UAH and UAH Police Facebook pages
  • UAHuntsville (@UAHuntsville) and UAH UAlert (@UAH_UAlert) Twitter Feeds
  • RSS (http://www.getrave.com/rss/uah/channel1)
  • Rave Guardian mobile app (available for Android and iOS devices from their app stores)

For more information on UAlert please visit www.uah.edu/ualert.If you wish to receive voice or text messages on a mobile device, you should add or update your primary cell phone number through the process described below. Your official UAH email address is automatically enrolled in UAlert.

To add or update a mobile phone for UAlert calls and/or texting, visit my.uah.edu and log in:

For students:
Under the STUDENT SERVICES heading, click on PERSONAL INFORMATION in the Student Records section. Then select "Update Addresses and Phones." Under the “Permanent Mailing Address” heading, click on the hyperlink to update the “Cell” phone number or insert a new number by selecting the “Cell” option from the drop down screen at the bottom of the page.

NOTE: Please wait at least 24 hours after adding your cell phone to Banner and then log into the Rave portal (http://www.getrave.com/login/uah) and follow the prompts under the “Mobile Phones” heading to confirm your cell number. This will allow Rave to send text messages to your mobile device.

For faculty and staff:
Under the EMPLOYEE SERVICES heading, click on PERSONAL INFORMATION in the Self Service Main Pages section. Then select "Update Addresses and Phones." Under the “Permanent Mailing Address” heading, click on the hyperlink to update the number or insert a new number by selecting the option from the drop down box at the bottom of the page.

Faculty and staff: if your office phone number is not correct in the Rave Alert portal, you should update that information by logging into https://apps.uah.edu and accessing the “Directory” tab.

UAH has partnered with Rave Alert for sending UAlert notifications. You may add additional phone, text, and email accounts by visiting the Rave Alert portal at http://www.getrave.com/login/uah. Your Charger ID and password will allow you to access the portal.
