Get a head start on your Master of Arts in English with UAH's Joint Undergraduate Master's Program (JUMP)!
JUMP allows undergraduate students to take up to 12 hours of graduate-level courses during their senior year. These courses then double-count toward both their bachelor’s and master’s degrees. However, because they pay only once – at the undergraduate rate – they are able to save money and earn their graduate degree in less time. There’s also no application fee, and students in the program are not required to take the Graduate Record Exam (GRE).
English majors interested in applying to JUMP should meet the following criteria:
- Have sophomore or junior standing
- Have a GPA of 3.5 or better
- Have completed EH 305 and sophomore literature requirements
- Demonstrate master’s level work through success in those or subsequent courses
Please note that this program best serves English majors pursuing Curriculum I. Curriculum II students should consult with the JUMP advisor very early in their program to determine if they would be suitable candidates. For more information, contact the Director of Graduate Studies in English at ehgrad@uah.edu.
