Freshman Academic Scholarships UAH recognizes new first-time freshmen who have demonstrated superior academic achievement in high school. Priority scholarship consideration will be given to all first-time freshmen who are offered admission to UAH prior to April 15, 2021. No separate scholarship application is required. Award amounts are based on each student's high school GPA, ACT or SAT score, and residency status. All Freshman Academic Scholarships are four-year awards for undergraduate work for the fall and spring semesters, renewable each semester based on full-time student status and satisfactory academic progress. 2021-2022 Freshman In-State Academic Scholarships 2021-2022 Freshman Out-of-State Academic Scholarships 2021-2022 Freshman TN Resident Academic Scholarships Competitive Scholarships Competitive Scholarships are made available to students through the generosity of alumni and friends of the University. Student eligibility is based on a variety of criteria including academic interests and achievements, special talents, and demonstrated leadership. The UAH Scholarship Application is used to determine eligibility for all competitive scholarships. The priority deadline for submission of this application is December 15th. With their competitive nature, new students are urged to apply soon after admission to the University. Applications received after this date will still be considered for any remaining awards after the initial selection process has been completed. Discover & Apply View all competitive scholarships Apply for scholarships National Merit Awards Students recognized as National Merit Finalists by the National Merit Scholar Corporation, and who are admitted to UAH, will be required to provide a copy of their official National Merit Finalist letter to the Office of Financial Aid (finaid@uah.edu). Students must also list The University of Alabama in Huntsville as their college choice with the National Merit Scholar Corporation before April 15th. National Merit Scholarship recipients will be awarded: Full tuition for up to four years (eight semesters) of undergraduate course work One year of on-campus housing at a regular room rate Course fees up to $500 per academic year A one-time $3,000 summer study-abroad allowance
