Is Navigate UAH FERPA compliant? The privacy of student records is protected by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Those rights and protections apply across all UAH platforms, including Canvas, Banner, and Navigate. As a student, you have the right to review educational records maintained by UAH and that the only people at UAH who will have access to your information are those with a legitimate educational interest. How is student success defined at UAH? Student success encompasses both academic achievement and holistic development. A successful academic journey begins with the understanding of a body of knowledge, the cultivation of self-management and interpersonal skills, and the development of relationships within the UAH community. Long-term success includes the application and creation of knowledge, a dedication to lifelong learning, and community engagement in the pursuit of academic, personal, and professional goals. What features are available now? You can begin using the career simulations now. It's a way to experience a day-in-the-life with leading employers. Practice your skills and build confidence to apply and interview. These are in-depth simulations that you can complete at your own pace. If you're unsure about which field to explore, try a 30-60 minute career explorer module. In the future, students will access the simulations through the app, but you can begin them now at theforage.com. Use your UAH email to create a free account. You'll be asked to provide information such as your major, grade point average, your current employment eligibility (VISA status), and career interests. How is Navigate UAH different from MyUAH? Navigate UAH and MyUAH are similar in that they both act as portals through which you can access key applications you use in your day-to-day life as a student. There will be links from MyUAH to Navigate. Within Navigate UAH, you’ll have links to Canvas, Schedule Planner, DegreeWorks, and career tools like ChargerPath/Handshake and Forage. Navigate UAH also has tools like appointment scheduling with your advisor and other offices on campus, a study group finder, to-do lists, a quick link to your class schedule, an AI powered search for campus resources, and academic planning tools. Who is going to be able to access Navigate UAH? Undergraduates will be able to access Navigate UAH through a mobile app or using the desktop version of the platform. UAH faculty and staff access the platform through the desktop version. The tools available will depend on your role at the university and if an office has chosen to use a feature. For example, students will be able to schedule academic advising appointments through Navigate but a faculty member may prefer to have you schedule a meeting through email or during drop-in office hours.
