Dr. David Puleo, Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Welcome to the Office of Academic Affairs. UAH is a top-tier public research university with a short but amazing history. As a university, we explore, discover, create, and communicate knowledge while educating individuals in critical thinking, teamwork, leadership, and innovation and inspiring a passion for life-long learning. Academic Affairs is dedicated to ensuring the academic integrity of the university through academic planning, leadership in academic-related areas, and the recruitment, retention, and advancement of faculty. The division encompasses six academic colleges, the Honors College, Graduate School, and several support units, including the Salmon Library and the Student Success Center. We are dedicated to fostering student success and supporting our faculty in doing their best work. Our faculty have the privilege of shaping the lives of students through the instruction provided in our classrooms, labs, studios, and clinics. They encourage and support student experiential learning opportunities in which students apply and build upon their knowledge, with the added benefit of further enriching their educational experience. Through our graduate programs, students can enhance both depth and breadth of learning while also engaging with our outstanding faculty in state-of-the-art research and scholarship that leads to new knowledge, creative works, technology, and innovation. It is my honor to serve as Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs at UAH. This is a special place. Our proximity to hundreds of businesses and federal agencies within the Huntsville metropolitan community creates an incredible incubator that facilitates engagement between academia, industry, and government that prepares students for the 21st century and beyond.
