Dr. William Carswell

Biography

Dr. Carswell has been a project manager for over 20 years in commercial, government contracting, academic and non-profit environments. He started off as a research scientist at UAH where he and his teams built and flew four crystal growth experiments on the space shuttle. Following that he was director of research at an optical research company, then worked on border security systems in the United States and the Middle East. More recently he was Executive Director of the non-profit Energy Huntsville and founded the Charger Energy Lab at UAH for the study of microgrids and energy storage. In 2017 he won the “Professional Development” professional-of-the-year award from the international Association of Energy Engineers for the southeast U.S. region.
