The University of Alabama in Huntsville’s (UAH) Rising Honors Dual Enrollment Academy is a selective dual enrollment collaborative with the UAH Honors College that offers academically advanced high school juniors and seniors a distinctive, honors-level educational experience.
Students in rising honors join a cohort of honors college peers and participate in seminar-style courses designed to be different from dual enrollment offerings: an intellectually engaging, highly personalized, experience built around academic excellence, mentorship, and community.
To qualify for the Rising Honors Program, students must be admitted to UAH as a Dual Enrollment Student with at least a 3.75 cumulative GPA and 28 composite ACT score. UAH will consider both weighted and unweighted GPAs, as well as ACT superscores for the three traditional ACT subjects.

A Different Kind of Dual Enrollment Experience
The UAH Rising Honors Dual Enrollment Academy is founded on a very simple idea: the best preparation for college and for young adults entering the work force is learning to think expansively and creatively, to engage questions of both urgent and lasting consequence, and to participate in a shared intellectual project that both challenges and empowers its members to excel. We invite you to join our community of curious minds and let us help you chart your own unique path.
Program Structure
Applicants are reviewed for admissions criteria and, if accepted, offered a spot in the Rising Honors Program. The Dual Enrollment and Honors Academic Advisors will then work with your requested schedule to build a customized path toward completing the certificate, using credits that can apply toward both your high school degree requirements (where applicable) and your university degree.
To complete the program, students must earn at least twelve hours of honors coursework during their time in the Dual Enrollment program.
Course offerings change each semester, but the UAH Honors College has availability across most subject areas, with course offerings vary each semester and are organized around engaging themes that invite students to tackle significant questions across the sciences, humanities, arts, social sciences, and mathematics. Beyond completing college requirements, Rising Honors students explore exciting, relevant ideas through smaller, discussion-based courses designed to challenge, inspire, and connect learning across disciplines.
