Offered through Osher Lifelong Learning Institute

Be transported in time as we visit a powerful prehistoric community that was, at its peak, America’s largest city north of Mexico. Located along the Black Warrior River, the University of Alabama’s Moundville Archaeological Park contains a panoramic landscape of 29 earthen mounds and a spectacular museum containing many of the beautiful treasures unearthed from the site. Learn how over 800 years ago, Mississippian people constructed these mounds around a central plaza for civic and ceremonial purposes. Transportation and admission to museums are included in your field trip fee. Masks may be required during transportation and at various museums and other destinations. Cost of meals and souvenirs are not included.

Wednesday (1 session) | Cost: $109 | Field Trip
