On Friday, September 23, 2022 from 1:00 - 2:00pm, Fellowship and Graduate School Advisor Jennifer Staton will talk about the Critical Language Scholarship. The CLS Program is part of a U.S. government effort to expand dramatically the number of Americans studying and mastering critical foreign languages. Students of diverse disciplines and majors are encouraged to apply. Participants are expected to continue their language study beyond the scholarship period, and later apply their critical language skills in their future professional careers.  Jennifer will discuss the basic application and eligibility requirements for the Critical Language Scholarship, along with advice on how to prepare for the application itself.  She will also discuss CLS Spark, a new virtual summer program.

This info session is ideal for all majors at all grade levels who are interested in studying abroad for a summer and learning one of the 15 critical languages hosted by the scholarship (including Hindi, Chinese, Russian, Arabic, Swahili, Japanese, and Persian, among others).

If you are unable to attend, contact Jennifer at statonj@uah.edu for more info.
