Hispanic Heritage Month 2021 | Saul Flores with SHE

Welcome to UAH’s Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ODEI)!

We honor the individual. We celebrate differences and use them to create unity.

UAH Strategic Plan 2020

The concept of diversity goes far beyond the definition of diversity. It’s the act of recognizing and appreciating the value of our inherent differences in order to increase access and inclusion and to combat discrimination and prejudice.

To strengthen diversity at UAH, the ODEI is committed to improving social and cultural awareness and encouraging self-understanding through education, training, and engagement with others. By offering enriching programs that promote cross-cultural perspectives and create mutual opportunities for exchange, we hope to foster an inclusive environment for people of all races, ethnicities, cultures, ages, religions, languages, abilities, genders, and sexual orientations.

The SSAFE fund is used to assist members of the UAH community who find themselves in unforeseen, critical or emergent financial situations that hinder our students, faculty, and staff from learning and serving to their full potential. These funds are used to assist in emergency situations regarding: rent and shelter expenses, medical expenses, car payments, utility bills - and in other situations on a case by case basis.
