GenCyber Cybersecurity Summer Camps UAH hosts GenCyber cybersecurity summer camps for high school students and teachers. We also provide lead support for camps hosted at other institutions. These camps are jointly funded by the National Security Agency and the National Science Foundation. Questions about camp or other K12 cybersecurity events should be directed to k12cyber@uah.edu GenCyber Southeastern Network for Cybersecurity Education (SENCE) Coalition The SENCE Coalition provides teacher and student camps and outreach opportunities for underrepresented and under-resourced populations, specifically deaf and hard of hearing students, students with visual impairments and their teachers, and students and teachers from Title I schools. Campers will engage in a five-day non-residential camp to learn cybersecurity and STEM skills through hands-on experiences and group activities. Students must be entering 7th or 8th grade in the fall of 2025 to be eligible. No cybersecurity experience or knowledge required. GenCyber is funded by government grants and is free to all students. REGISTER HERE GenCyber Camp for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Students June 22-29, 2025 Hosted by Gallaudet University Cybersecurity summer camp for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing high school students. Campers engage in a 5-day residential camp to learn cybersecurity and STEM skills through hands-on experiences and group activities. Students must at least be entering 9th grade in fall 2025 to be eligible. No cybersecurity experience or knowledge required. GenCyber is funded by government grants and is free to all students. Camp is taught by both deaf and hearing instructors. American Sign Language interpreting will be provided. REGISTRATION AVAILABLE SOON GenCyber Camp for Students with Visual Impairments July 14-18, 2025 Hosted by Auburn University at Montgomery Camp is held July 14-18 at the AIDB North Campus in Decatur, Alabama. Campers may arrive at camp on Sunday, July 13, and depart camp on Saturday, July 19. You must be a high school student to be eligible (at least entering 9th grade in fall 2025). Seniors graduating in 2025 are considered. Up to 15 campers will attend and learn cybersecurity concepts in a fun, interactive, and accessible environment. No cybersecurity experience is required. This camp is a collaboration between Auburn University Montgomery, The University of Alabama in Huntsville, and the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind. APPLY TO Camp for Students with Visual Impairments Teacher Camps GenCyber Camp for Teachers July 7-11, 2025 Hosted at Motlow State Community College, Smyrna Campus, TN A cybersecurity summer workshop for middle and high school teachers. GenCyber will create cyber-savvy educators through hands-on lab exercises, demos, and group-based curriculum integration sessions. No cybersecurity experience required. This week long workshop will have hands-on lab exercises, demos, and resources. No cybersecurity experience required. REGISTER HERE College of Engineering Camps The UAH College of Engineering holds various cybersecurity and engineering camps each summer for middle and high school students. View College of Engineering Camps UAH partnered with the U.S. Space and Rocket Center and Cyber Huntsville to launch the inaugural U.S. Cyber Camp for Alabama high school students in July 2017. The CCRE provided curriculum development and instruction for the U.S. Cyber Camp endeavor for two years.
