UAH recognizes new first-time freshmen (including international students) who have demonstrated superior academic achievement in high school. All Freshman Academic Scholarships are four-year awards for fall and spring semesters, renewable each semester based on full-time student status and satisfactory academic progress. Scholarship consideration will be given to all first-time freshmen who are offered admission to UAH prior to April 15, 2021. No separate scholarship application is required.

Award amounts are based on each student's high school GPA, highest ACT or SAT score, and residency status. Students are encouraged to take the ACT and/or SAT multiple times. For scholarship consideration, UAH will use the highest composite ACT and/or SAT score from one test sitting until April 15, 2021. Please note, updated high school transcripts and test scores received after April 15, 2021 will not be considered for a scholarship upgrade.

While ACT has begun providing superscore reports, at this time, UAH will not be accepting them for scholarship consideration for the 2021-2022 aid year.  Information regarding superscores for the upcoming aid year of 2022-2023 will be forthcoming.

The scholarships below indicate the amount awarded per academic year to students who are NOT Alabama or Tennessee residents.
