Event Information Freshman Orientation is a two-day event. Students have the opportunity to spend the night in an on-campus residence hall on Day One of Orientation. New Student Orientation is a program run through the Office of Admissions to acclimate new freshmen and transfer students to all aspects of UAH’s campus. Orientation programming introduces students to available resources that will aid in their transition to college academics, residential living, and other student involvement opportunities. Orientation is to ensure that students feel confident as they balance the new challenges of successfully adjusting to college life. When should my student register for an Orientation session? As soon as they’ve decided that they will be enrolling at UAH for the Fall 2024 semester! We encourage students to sign up as soon as possible as sessions fill up quickly! Can parents and guests attend New Student Orientation? Yes! We have developed specific programming and sessions to help you feel comfortable as your student transitions from high school to college. Can I access the presentation information after my orientation session? View our orientation presentations to reference the information you learned during each session! What else should parents know? Parents and guests will need to make off-campus overnight arrangements during Orientation. Only students will spend the night on campus. Wear comfortable shoes, as you'll have the opportunity to explore campus during your time at Orientation. Have a conversation with your student regarding class registration prior to Orientation.
